Welcome

The Scottish Hellenic Society (SHS) promotes the heritage of ancient Greece and Scotland. We bring scholars, students, and the public together. Our aim is to deepen knowledge of Greek philosophy, theology, and culture.

The Society links academic research with public discussion. We use insights from several fields to explore classical ideas. We also ask how these ideas can speak to the present. We support new research and keep Hellenic wisdom part of current intellectual life.

Our events are open to everyone, both in person and online. We welcome students, university staff, alumni, and members of the public. Our community reaches across Scotland and beyond.
